Why should I inspect my solar sites?Aerial inspections provide essential diagnostics to help ensure your equipment is running at peak performance. They allow solar asset owners and operators to identify hidden issues, conduct root cause analysis, and minimize potential revenue losses. When combined with the Spectrave S-Cube platform, this inspection data adds a valuable layer of intelligence to your overall performance insights. In addition to routine maintenance, solar operators use aerial inspections to quickly verify repairs, respond to emergencies like fires or extreme weather, and investigate performance issues at any point in the year.

How does Spectrave’s inspection solution analyze thermal images and detect issues in PV systems?Spectrave’s inspection solution leverages proprietary AI-driven tools to process thermal images of PV systems, automatically identifying and geo-referencing anomalies for precise follow-up. This streamlined process supports fast and effective remediation, helping operators address issues with efficiency and accuracy.
-
Can drone thermography support warranty claims?Yes, drone thermography provides the data necessary to support warranty claims by pinpointing issues like hot spots and bypass diode activation, both of which indicate potential failures. Our inspections document specific temperature variations between cells, a method that aligns with many manufacturers’ warranty requirements. This process provides the evidence needed to support claims, savingtime and labor associated with manual inspection. If you believe your system has issues that may be covered under warranty, contact us for comprehensive inspection data to support your claim.
-
How much can be inspected in a day?The area covered by a drone thermography inspection depends on factors like flight altitude, weather, and irradiance. Generally, an IEC-compliant inspection allows us to cover approximately 20-30 MW per day, providing an efficient benchmark for planning.
-
Does the site need to be energized for the inspection?Yes, the system should be energized. Drone inspections allow your equipment to remain operational during inspection, eliminating downtime. Ideally, the system should operate at maximum load, though a minimum of 60% load is acceptable. For tasks that require equipment to be powered off, such as inverter maintenance, it’s best to schedule them separately from the inspection
-
Can I use Spectrave’s S-Cube software to perform my own PV system inspections, and how is the data managed?Yes, you can perform the data capture yourself or through a third-party provider, and we’ll manage the processing and analysis. Through the Spectrave S-Cube platform, you’ll receive a detailed report that integrates seamlessly with your workflow, providing actionable insights.
-
How long do I have access to inspection data on the S-Cube platform? We provide complimentary access to your inspection data on the S-Cube platform for three months. For ongoing access, you can renew your subscription annually for a nominal fee.
